In the surf industry several brands made boards in a sustainable way. But for the first time the benefits of natural fibers have been utilized to create a twintip kiteboard. Manufactured by the Swiss custom board brand FFC, this new concept offers several benefits for the kiters.
The weight reduction gives the board a nimble feeling and unmatched agility. With its PET/flax core and the unidirectional flax fiber layup it weighs just 1.9 kg. This is a 25% weight reduction compared to a traditional board with the same flex characteristics.
Thanks to the natural fibre damping properties, unwanted high frequency vibrations are absorbed. Therefore the board can be built stiffer, giving a more aggressive pop, without sacrificing any ride comfort in choppy waves.
