Kang poles made from natural fibres

The Kang Flax Moose – to be launched this October – won the ISPO Gold Award 2020 in the Ski Alpine Poles category. The poles are designed, developed and assembled in Sweden and make use of sustainably smart materials.

About Kang

Kang is a Swedish company, born in 2014 under the mantra “by freeriders for freeriders”. Following classic Scandinavian design philosophy, functionality and simplicity are key values for the brand. They design, develop and assemble their products in Sweden – Åre and Stockholm to be more precise. Wanting to ski deep powder snow also tomorrow and the day after, Kang put a big focus on building their poles from sustainable materials such as bamboo, leather, bioplastics and flax fibres.

Flax Poles

The understated flax poles are made with Bcomp’s ampliTex™ technical fabrics. Thanks to the tubing made from a mix of 70% flax fibres and 30% carbon fibres, these lightweight poles manage to combine durability with the perfect amount of flexibility. The sustainably grown flax fibres allow these ski poles to have a substantially smaller CO2 footprint than conventional carbon fibre poles. With their newest Flax Moose pole that comes in a monochromatic black powder coating and with a unique grip wrapped in black moose leather, Kang was able to win a Gold award at ISPO 2020 where the jury honoured it as “a stroke of green genius”.

With their innovative approach, Kang is really demonstrating their dedication to a more sustainable future, making sure we and the next generations can still enjoy bottomless powder turns in the years to come.
