This year, as part of our dedication to sustainability, we are giving back to the Alpine region that has provided so much inspiration since the early days of Bcomp by supporting Pro Alps.
Pro Alps is a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the Alpine region’s fragile ecosystems by tackling the pressing issues of traffic and pollution. Since 1989, Pro Alps (formerly as the Alpine Initiative) has been a pioneer in sustainable transport and environmental advocacy, working to safeguard the Alps’ unique biodiversity and cultural heritage for future generations by mitigating the impact of excessive traffic.
Their work encompasses raising public awareness, reducing unnecessary transport, shifting freight to rail and promoting eco-friendly alternatives, mitigating traffic’s negative impacts, advocating for sustainable transport policies, and engaging communities in environmental stewardship.
The organization’s holistic approach addresses environmental challenges across the entire Alpine region. Moreover, their ZEWO certification ensures transparency and accountability, guaranteeing that contributions have a tangible impact.
Stretching across eight countries, the Alps are more than an icon of natural beauty. They represent a vital ecological and cultural hub, supporting diverse wildlife, vibrant communities, and critical resources. However, the rise of traffic and pollution has placed these ecosystems under severe threat, leading to habitat destruction, health risks, and climate challenges.
